I built a Wispr Flow Clone... and Won $450

I placed second in the Build with Gemma: Kolkata hackathon, organized online by ML Kolkata.

For the hackathon, I built WisprGemma, a local-first, multilingual voice-dictation app inspired by Wispr Flow. It runs entirely in the browser using Gemma and WebGPU, with no API key, no cloud backend, and no separate speech-recognition stack.

In this video, I share the story behind the project: why I built it, how the idea evolved, what I learned from building browser-based AI, and what it felt like to place second in a hackathon with $450 in cash prizes.

Check out the WisprGemma write-up
