Building MyZubster LIFE: Today’s Progress
Today, September 8, 2026, was an important day for the development of MyZubster LIFE 2027.
We focused on connecting universities, research organizations, technology partners, communities, and potential pilot users around a practical circular-economy ecosystem.
Our meeting with UnitelmaSapienza
We held a positive exploratory meeting with representatives of UnitelmaSapienza.
We discussed:
- circular-economy models;
- environmental and social KPIs;
- Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification systems;
- possible university testing of MyZubster and Zorgax;
- open-source participation;
- a potential role for the university in the LIFE proposal.
The university representatives expressed interest in the project. They will evaluate which role they may undertake after our upcoming discussion with ENEA.
No partnership or formal commitment has been confirmed yet.
Preparing the ENEA meeting
Our next meeting is scheduled with ENEA for September 10.
The discussion will focus on:
- circular water and wastewater reuse;
- environmental monitoring;
- scientific validation;
- data, baselines, and pilot locations;
- the possible role of ENEA as project coordinator;
- alternative routes for identifying a suitable lead organization;
- responsibilities, contacts, and next steps.
Following the UnitelmaSapienza meeting, we informed ENEA about the university’s exploratory interest.
Testing MyZubster and Zorgax at university
We proposed a small university-based test of MyZubster and Zorgax.
The pilot could help us evaluate:
- how students and researchers interact with the platform;
- how Zorgax supports users during project activities;
- which data can be collected with explicit authorization;
- how project contributions can be documented;
- which KPIs are useful for measuring environmental and social impact;
- how GitHub can support transparent and verifiable collaboration.
Before starting, the test will need a defined scope, duration, participant group, data policy, and evaluation method.
GovTech and the possible role of Maggioli
We are also developing a GovTech proposal that could be discussed with Maggioli.
The concept includes:
- digital services for public administrations;
- transparent and verifiable workflows;
- Digital Product Passports;
- project and impact traceability;
- governance tools;
- access to European innovation projects.
Maggioli is not currently a confirmed project partner. This remains a proposed collaboration to be discussed and validated.
Circular commerce and the AliExpress concept
Another area under development is a circular-commerce concept that could eventually be proposed to AliExpress and other marketplaces.
The goal is not to encourage additional consumption. It is to explore how digital marketplaces could support:
- product origin and durability information;
- repair and reuse;
- refurbished products and second-life markets;
- responsible sellers;
- lower-impact packaging and logistics;
- Digital Product Passports;
- measurable circular-economy indicators.
AliExpress is not currently a MyZubster partner. This is an independent concept that still requires validation and direct discussion with the company.
Connecting different circular economies
MyZubster is being designed to connect several circular-economy areas:
- water and wastewater;
- agriculture, sludge, and nutrient recovery;
- energy and digital infrastructure;
- electronics and device reuse;
- packaging and logistics;
- digital commerce;
- public services and GovTech;
- education, communities, and social inclusion.
The common foundation is a transparent digital infrastructure based on measurable activities, open collaboration, and verifiable impact.
What comes next
Our immediate priorities are:
- Complete the meeting with ENEA.
- Clarify the possible coordinator role.
- Update UnitelmaSapienza after the ENEA discussion.
- Define a small university pilot for MyZubster and Zorgax.
- Assign responsibilities and measurable objectives.
- Continue discussions with potential technical and territorial partners.
- Document progress publicly without presenting exploratory contacts as confirmed partnerships.
MyZubster is still under development, but every conversation is helping us transform a broad vision into a structured and testable project.
