Okay, this one was a little scary to publish. 😭
This is probably the most personal thing I've written here — not a tutorial, not a project breakdown, just the actual path that led me from a CPI drop, a pretty terrible internship, and a few random opportunities to finally getting my first job offer.
If you're a fresher going through placement season right now, I'd genuinely love to know — what are you currently betting on to get where you want to go?
And if you've already been through it, what ended up helping you that you never expected would matter?

Cool, So other than required sections: skills and projects,
Your achievements and Open source contributions or being part of a community has its own weight. Also, an internship can be cherry on top(But a legit one, not a project based).
And your achievements can be the participations and even if you got shortlisted for 2nd round or a finalist in a hack but didn't win, that's an achievement too.

Bro, that's hell of a journey. I'm myself in the placement season. Got any tips for me?
Bro, TBH all I would say is go for the basics, know your resume. You should be able to explain your projects properly and never panic even if you can't think of solution.
From my case, My interview took like an hour but even if I missed 1-2 questions, It didn't affect me at all. Just be in the moment.
Also, 1 crazy tip: A lot of interviewers now use AI in the process, so like each answer you say, next question will be a related one, and thing is you can divert the questions to a topic you know the best.
All I wanna say is Don't panic if you get 2-3 answers wrong, if you can't find best approach in DSA, go for brute force don't leave it blank, don't waste time. I myself didn't get a couple of questions, still made it to the HR round.

This was great to read. I really needed to see this, especially when people are just focusing on memorizing interview questions and grinding leetcode (I also don't have an impressive LeetCode profile). That's why I actually joined Dev.to, so I can participate in these hackathons, build a great network of devs, and actually enjoy coding.
That's the thing TBH there are still like a lot of batchmates who have better LeetCode profiles and projects and even internships but are not placed yet.
Also Bro, I would suggest you to participate in local or college hacks too! That also helps. Main thing is the piece of portfolio: the project you built. Cause there are people who got placed before me that didn't have any hack wins or internships but still got the highest package, due to impressive system design skills.
