What the SRNL–3D Systems additive-manufacturing agreement covers

The announced joint scope

SRNL and 3D Systems announced an additive-manufacturing CRADA on August 27, 2026. Its joint areas include materials development, equipment enhancements, AI/ML-enabled process optimization, manufacturing systems, cybersecurity, and workforce training.

Named materials and component candidates

The releases name high-temperature nickel-based superalloys and other radiation-tolerant materials, along with heat exchangers containing internal cooling channels, reactor internals, pumps, and valves. SRNL says additive manufacturing can produce complex advanced-alloy components that are difficult or impossible to make conventionally.

Development directions and current boundary

3D Systems describes real-time process-optimization tools and scalable-production solutions as development directions. The releases do not report a radiation-test result, qualified component performance, production yield, or measured cost saving from this agreement.
