Anthropic moves forward with procedures for its listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange

Anthropic has filed paperwork for an initial public offering on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, with a potential market debut planned for November.

The filing outlines rapid revenue growth, significant enterprise customer spending, ongoing net losses, and key market risks.

The documents do not say how much money Anthropic wants to raise or what valuation it is seeking. In August, the New York Times reported that the company planned to raise more than $100 billion, at a valuation of about $2 trillion.

Anthropic reports that its revenue exceeded $16 billion in the first half of 2026, up from about $4,5 billion in 2025. In the previous 12 months, more than 11.900 customers spent at least $100.000 with the company. More than 1.900 spent at least $1 million, while about 250 spent at least $10 million.

Despite the increase in revenue, the company has not recorded a profit. In the first half of 2026, it had a net loss of $80,7 million, compared to $13 billion in the same period in 2025.

In the filing, Anthropic calls its share purchase a “high-risk” investment, saying it may struggle to secure enough computing power for its needs and faces intense competition from other AI companies.

The company also warns that powerful AI systems could be used for cyberattacks or to develop new biological weapons. It also warns of the risk of authoritarian governments using them to monitor citizens, and the possibility of the company losing control of the systems it develops.

Another risk Anthropic cites concerns litigation with the U.S. government. The Trump administration has labeled the company a “supply chain risk.” Anthropic says it works with government agencies, but it doesn’t know whether the outcome of the cases will affect its sales to them or to customers who sell products and services to the U.S. government.

Anthropic was founded in 2021 by seven former OpenAI employees. They reportedly lost confidence in OpenAI’s ability to safely develop powerful AI systems. Anthropic says it wants to use its systems to accelerate scientific discovery, help cure disease, and boost economic growth.

In September 2026, OpenAI announced that it no longer plans to go public within the year, citing concerns about the risks that artificial intelligence could pose to humanity.
