Apprise 2.1 released with 12 new connections and better data protection

Apprise v2.1 is now available, expanding the open-source notification tool to 170 plugins with 12 new services including GitHub, Better Stack, and AMQP support.

The release also improves sensitive link credential masking, refines encrypted email attachments, and drops discontinued Amazon Chime support.

The update brings 12 new connectors, bringing the total number of supported plugins to 170. New services include GitHub for notifications via issues, discussions, and code requests, as well as incident management tools like Better Stack, incident.io, Squadcast, ilert, and GoAlert. Support for AMQP 0.9.1/1.0, Gorush, Zoho Cliq, Zalo, OneBot, and LFG Alarm has also been added.

In addition to the new services, the update improves the way notifications are handled. Some existing connectors, such as PagerDuty, PagerTree, and SIGNL4, can now resolve notifications in addition to creating them. There are also significant improvements in data protection, as the application now better hides sensitive information such as access keys, passwords, and API keys from appearing in links.

The new version also fixes various issues related to email sending, handling of encrypted attachments, and message resending behavior. Finally, support for the discontinued Amazon Chime service has been removed from the list of available options.
