Google Search places AI Overviews at the top of results without offering a native permanent toggle.
Developers and users looking to bypass summaries can configure custom browser search engine defaults or append &udm=14 to force traditional web-only link results.
However, there are several ways to get rid of them and see only the classic search results.
How to remove summaries with a symbol
The quickest way to eliminate abstracts from a search is to add a minus sign followed by the letters AI or random characters to the end of your search phrase. This forces the system to skip the abstract.
The special tissue filter
Google has a filter for search results that displays only traditional links, removing summaries, video preferences, and other snippets. However, this view cannot currently be set as a permanent default for all searches without manual action. Users can either manually add a special suffix to the results URL or use the external website udm14.com, which acts as a Google search bar without summaries.
Automatic preselection on mobile and computers
You can set up custom search engines in Chrome and Firefox browsers, both on mobile and desktop, using specific addresses that contain the special suffix. This way, any new search will go directly to clean web results.
Brave's solution
If you use the Brave browser, you can disable its own AI summaries or block related suggestions through the content filtering settings, even when searching via Google.
