Apple has updated its MacBook Pro lineup with 14 and 16-inch models featuring Tandem OLED touchscreen displays, marketed as PROLED XDR.
The refreshed hardware shifts to M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, while also incorporating support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.
In addition to the display and performance shifts, the new chassis designs are thinner and lighter, marking the return of the illuminated lid logo.
The new screen and its features
The new laptops use the PROLED XDR display, which is based on Tandem OLED technology. This technology allows the screen to respond directly to touch. The top of the screen now incorporates the “Dynamic Island”, a feature we have also seen on the iPhone.
Performance and connectivity
Inside the devices are the M5 Pro or M5 Max processors. The new devices support the latest wireless connection standards, namely Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, offering faster communication with other devices and networks.
Availability and prices
Those interested can already pre-order the new models, with their release in stores starting on November 6, 2026. The price for the 14-inch model starts at $2.899, while the starting price for the 16-inch version is $3.399.
