Day 28 of Building Crowdwide — More Personalization, Bug Fixes & Still Looking for a Brand Ambassador!

I was building a social media platform with a special algorithm that gives new voices or communities a better chance of being discovered.

And... it's Crowdwide!

Today is day 28 of giving updates on its v1 version, and its v2 version is going to release on 1 November 2026. Not too far...

So far...

I made a few more changes and made a few bugs...

While adding and setting up something for larger screens, I broke it for smaller screens!!

Just like the sidebar of Crowdwide.

Actually, I saw some space due to padding inside the sidebar, so I just removed it and didn't check it on my phone.

And YES!! That's where I made a bug... bug maker developer respect ++ MISSION RESPECT PASSES+++

Then it was reported by @effessdev, and I fixed it!

And in the sidebar... on larger screens like PCs, whenever I opened the sidebar, I saw that it was different in every section of Crowdwide.
From

To

Yeah, I built it but forgot to maintain consistency between UIs.
From:

To

So I made it fixed!

And everything was looking so set and satisfying!

But I thought...

Now I have 20+ users, why not increase personalization?

What did I do exactly?

I have added a few more things to the feed.

If your post gets more views, like 40–50 (initially shown to users in their feed), but no reaction, it will be ranked lower (not too low... just less preferred).

And...

Out of every 4–5 posts, you will get one post that you may be interested in...

Just to check your interest in other things as well.

There is a thing in social media platforms that checks the interest shifts of users.

So yeah, I added that...

Actually, I found that approach smart... smarter... smartest... lol.

Further, I haven't made any other very special changes...

Do you think with this much UI... and backend, Crowdwide is okay for now?

Like, I mean, can I stop giving it daily updates now?

Also...

I announced that... I want to make someone a brand ambassador of Crowdwide...

But no one talked about it... lol... so till now... I haven't got anyone...

Thanks for the mention bro! 🫡 Can you make going to crowdwide.run.place automatically redirect to crowdwide.run.place/dashboard for logged in users? If you don't want that, can you show an "Open app" button for logged-in users? The current "Open app" button is not visible on mobile (without opening nav):

I mean, maybe keep it next to "Create account" or something? 🤔 I am not sure about this so don't take my word blindly...

That's the output we get after building an ESP-IDF project (it's very satisfying to see because it takes soo much time to complete building and also it fails very often).

It's windows 10? That's why...

i have tht...
i was building a microbial fuel cell and to record its reading and making graph of power i m using that...
i used claude for writing in that... bcoz idk about its language and that was school project

Thread Thread

puneetkumar2010 profile image
Puneet Kumar Mishra •

😅 Yeah...
I failed 4 times while making that
2 times it just got dry
1 time overflown
1 time it leaked from the container

5th time it worked and generated 1.5 mA

Thread Thread

effessdev profile image
EffessDev •

Sounds cool really 😯 Why did you use esp32 for that?

Thread Thread

puneetkumar2010 profile image

The microbial fuel cell was generating electricity, so we attached a Wi-Fi module point that creates a Wi-Fi hotspot. Users can connect their mobile phones or other devices to it.

Using an ESP32, we transmit real-time data to the connected device, including things like...

The amount of current being generated. The estimated electricity generation over the next hour.
An option to export the collected data.
A graph showing current generation over time. Several additional features to monitor and analyse the system's performance.

i forgot the name of that wifi modules... i forgive everyone for this 🙄😅

Huge congratulations on reaching Day 28! Building and shipping in public while maintaining a daily update streak takes insane discipline. The UI consistency updates on the sidebar look so much cleaner now!

As for stopping daily updates: switching to weekly or feature-based milestones after the November 1st v2 release might actually give you more breathing room to focus on deep feature dev and user onboarding without burnout. Keep pushing, Puneet! 👏

Thank you so much! ❤️ Really appreciate you following the journey. And I agree, moving to weekly or feature-based updates after the v2 release sounds like a smart move. It'll give me more time to focus on building and improving Crowdwide. One step at a time!

Personalization is strongest when the user can still predict the system. A small explanation—what preference changed this view and how to reset it—prevents the product from feeling random. That also gives you a practical test: the default path should remain usable for someone with no profile history at all.

That's a really valuable perspective, Alex!

I especially agree with the point about keeping personalization predictable. Personalization should make the experience feel more relevant, not random.

We're still evolving this part of Crowdwide, and adding more transparency around why users see certain content, along with an easy way to reset preferences, is definitely worth considering.

Also, ensuring the default experience works well without any profile history is something we shouldn't overlook.

Thanks for sharing this thoughtful feedback!
