Apple’s 2026 iMac keeps the previous exterior and 24-inch 4.5K display while moving to the M6.
The base chip has a 10-core CPU and GPU, with an optional 12-core configuration; SSD speeds have doubled over the previous generation.
The M6 also includes a dual Neural Engine for AI tasks, while the N1 coprocessor supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.
The upgrades inside
The main change is in the M6 processor. The base version includes 10 processing cores and 10 graphics cores, while a more powerful version with 12 cores for each of the two is available for an additional $200. The processor comes with a new dual “Neural Engine” system, which is designed for artificial intelligence tasks.
Additionally, the new iMac now supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 via a new coprocessor (N1). Internal storage speeds have been doubled compared to the previous model, while memory starts at 16GB and can be upgraded to 32GB.
Pricing and availability
The starting price of the computer remains at $1.499. The computer's camera remains at 12MP with 1080p resolution and support for the "Center Stage" mode, which keeps the user in the center of the frame during video calls.
