Gelly: A new program for listening to your music collection on your computer

Explore Gelly, a modern desktop music player written in Rust and GTK4/libadwaita for services like Jellyfin and Navidrome.

Learn how it handles streaming, MPRIS controls, and playback features.

The application is aimed at users who maintain a personal music server and are looking for a lightweight and functional way to listen to their songs on their computer. Gelly allows browsing the music library, playing and controlling tracks, while offering options such as displaying lyrics that follow the music, automatic volume balancing between songs, and uninterrupted playback without gaps between tracks.

Additionally, users can manage their favorite playlists, create smart playlists, and use the automatic music selection feature based on a favorite song, album, or artist. The app also integrates with the computer's media control systems for easy operation.

As Gelly is purely a display and control tool, it does not allow for adding new music or playing local files that are not connected to the user's remote server. The application is available for installation via Flathub.
