System76 is developing Theme Constellations for the COSMIC Desktop, introducing preset packages that bundle wallpapers, colors, icons, and fonts to change the entire workspace appearance through a visual preview gallery.
Ready-made appearance packages
Today, to change the style of your computer, you usually have to adjust each element separately, such as wallpaper, colors, icons, and fonts. With Theme Constellations, all of this will be brought together in a single package.
System76 CEO Carl Richell demonstrated the feature in a video through the COSMIC Desktop settings. Users will have access to a collection of ready-made styles with a visual preview, so they can choose the one they prefer with a single swipe. Once a package is activated, the appearance of the computer will automatically change everywhere.
Availability
System76 has not yet announced when exactly the Constellations Theme will be released, nor has it specified which version of the software it will be integrated into. It is recalled that the COSMIC team continues the visual interventions in the environment, having previously introduced translucency effects in version 1.3, which was released in July 2026.
