Very few orders via artificial intelligence on DoorDash

DoorDash's Q3 2026 earnings disclosures reveal that third-party AI agents such as Muse, Instinct, and Fo have driven only several hundred orders, contrasting sharply with its volume of 3 million daily deliveries.

The data offers a realistic look at current agentic integration limits.

During its third-quarter 2026 earnings call on Oct. 30, the company revealed that orders through third-party apps like Muse, Instinct, and Fo are minimal. To put that in perspective, DoorDash serves an average of about 3 million orders each day, according to its 2025 report, while users continue to order primarily through its own app.

The company's CEO, Tony Su, said that this category of orders is still in its infancy. He explained that DoorDash wants to learn more about how these tools are used and develop relationships with their creators, leaving open the possibility of future advertising within them.

DoorDash itself has already experimented with various automations. In June 2026, it launched a chat app, Ask DoorDash, that allows for ordering via messages and photos, followed by a text-based tool in July, and in September 2026, it launched its own text-based ordering app. It also released a way to connect to other chat apps to allow for corporate ordering.
